GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Stacey Ramone Scott, aged 51, was taken into custody yesterday on allegations of indecent exposure. This arrest follows a similar incident in July which was dismissed due to insufficient evidence, as the State Attorney’s office noted that the previous victim did not witness Scott exposing himself.
On October 26, around 2 p.m., officers from the Gainesville Police Department were called to a residence in Midtown. A woman reported seeing a man on the front steps of a house on the 400 block of NW 10th Street, allegedly exposing himself and engaging in lewd behavior.
The responding officer noted that the suspect fled upon noticing the police presence. Surveillance footage captured the man in question, and another officer recognized him based on prior interactions. Back in July, Scott faced similar accusations just a short distance from this recent incident. However, the charges were dropped then because the crucial element of exposure could not be proven beyond doubt.
Scott now faces a charge of indecent exposure for a repeat offense. His criminal history includes 12 felony convictions, two of which were violent, and 32 misdemeanors, with five being of a violent nature. Notably, he was convicted of indecent exposure in 2017. Scott has served two prison terms and was released in July 2024 after completing a four-year sentence for multiple felonies across three separate cases. Judge Meshon Rawls has set his bail at $5,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
