The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into a series of incidents involving counterfeit currency at John’s Pass, Tampa. Local businesses are on high alert after several fake bills were reportedly used in transactions.

Captain Dylan Hubbard, the proprietor of Hubbard’s Marina, expressed his frustration over the situation. “The usual methods of detecting counterfeit bills, like the currency pen, failed us,” he said. “It wasn’t until we had the chance to review things more closely that we realized we were dealing with some suspicious money.”
