TAMPA, Fla. (NewsNation) — Chris Evans, famously known for his role as Captain America, has embraced fatherhood.

The actor and his wife, Alba Baptista, 28, have welcomed their first child, a daughter, as reported by both TMZ and People.

The couple named their new bundle of joy Alma Grace Baptista Evans, taking both of their last names.  

The “Avengers: Infinity War” actor’s daughter was born on Friday in Massachusetts, TMZ reports.

Evans, 44, and the Portuguese actress were first reported to be dating in January 2022. The couple got married in September 2023 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The “Materialists” actor told People Magazine when he was named PEOPLE’s 2022 Sexiest Man Alive that he had hoped to start a family one day.  

“That’s absolutely something I want: Wife, kids, building a family,” Evans said.
