ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A visitor at SeaWorld Orlando has initiated legal action against the park after an unusual incident where she was hit by a duck while on a roller coaster. The lawsuit was filed on Monday morning.

According to the legal documents, Hillary Martin from Orange County experienced the incident in March during a visit to the park. She had chosen to ride the Mako roller coaster that day.

While on the ride, a duck flew into the path of the roller coaster and struck Martin in the face, causing her to lose consciousness, the lawsuit claims.

Martin is now holding the theme park accountable, alleging that it created a “zone of danger.” She argues that the coaster’s high speed and proximity to a body of water heightened the likelihood of bird-related incidents.

As a result of the incident, Martin suffered permanent injury to her body, as well as hospital expenses and mental suffering, the lawsuit claims.

“Losses are permanent and continuing, and (Martin) will suffer in the future,” the document reads.

Per the lawsuit, Martin is seeking over $50,000 in damages.

Despite these details, though, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services does not list the incident online.

The full lawsuit can be read below.
