WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. – On the evening of Friday, October 24th, around 5:30 PM, deputies in Washington County responded to reports of two men trespassing in a field close to the Washington State Prison.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers swiftly set up a perimeter to contain the area. They deployed K-9 Rebel, who began tracking the suspects. By approximately 6:30 PM, K-9 Rebel had successfully discovered the individuals hiding in the wooded area near the prison. The suspects were found in possession of a large bag filled with contraband.
The two men, identified as 23-year-old Antonio Hakness from Fairburn and 19-year-old Jamarius Favors from Atlanta, were taken into custody. They face several charges, including possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of items prohibited for inmates, and three counts of trading with inmates.
