Authorities in New York City are on the hunt for three suspects linked to a daring theft in Queens, where a safe and jewelry collectively worth $3.2 million were stolen from a residence.

The crime unfolded on a Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:20 p.m., according to the New York Police Department (NYPD). Surveillance footage captured the trio forcing their way through the back door of the home. They were later seen fleeing the scene in a blue Hyundai Elantra.

To evade detection, two of the men cleverly disguised themselves as construction workers. They wore vests, masks, black sweatshirts, black pants, and carried black backpacks. Meanwhile, the third suspect, who acted as the getaway driver, donned a white hoodie, black pants, and black gloves.

Fortunately, the home was unoccupied during the break-in, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Investigators noted that the break-in occurred on October 16, 2025, with the suspects gaining entry by forcibly opening the rear door. The NYPD Crime Stoppers are actively seeking information to help apprehend those involved.

Police are asking anyone with information about the men to contact NYPD’s Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish. Tips can also be submitted online and via @NYPDTips on X.

The self-described democratic socialist is currently leading in the polls for the upcoming New York City mayoral elections. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an Independent, has been closing the gap in recent days, while Republican Curtis Sliwa continues to trail both of them by a substantial margin.
