Vladimir Guerrero has been a $500 million win for Blue Jays

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the star first baseman for the Blue Jays, is proving to be not only fairly compensated but perhaps even undervalued.

In a surprising twist, despite Shohei Ohtani’s remarkable performances, Guerrero is outperforming the renowned two-way player with an impressive 1.306 OPS in October. While Guerrero isn’t known for pitching, his skillful plays at first base, providing accurate throws to every base, have been a significant asset.

“I have great respect for Ohtani. Both of us are often the focus of the series, but when it comes to game time, it’s all about competing,” Guerrero remarked through an interpreter. His pivotal two-run homer against Ohtani in Game 4 was crucial in tying the World Series at two games each.

Initially hesitant to meet Guerrero’s $500 million contract demand, the Blue Jays ultimately realized it was a wise investment. At 26, he is a Canadian superstar committed to the team, embodying both talent and teamwork. For some time, the Jays management had differing views on his worth, but Guerrero’s vision proved to be spot on.
