On a bright Wednesday morning, Karoline Leavitt, the 28-year-old White House Press Secretary, delighted her Instagram followers by showcasing her latest skincare purchases from South Korea. Her shopping spree coincided with her stay there, accompanying President Donald Trump on his diplomatic visit.

Leavitt, along with the presidential team, landed on South Korean soil on Tuesday as President Trump made his arrival at Gimhae International Airport in Busan. This visit marks Trump’s first return to the country in six years.

The reason behind Trump’s visit is the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, a significant stop on his week-long Asian tour. The summit provides a crucial platform for discussions on economic collaboration among Pacific Rim countries.

During his time in South Korea, President Trump engaged in important talks with President Lee Jae Myung, focusing on a potential trade agreement. In recognition of his efforts to foster peace on the Korean peninsula during his previous term, Trump was honored with the Grand Order of Mugunghwa, the nation’s highest accolade.

Amidst the flurry of diplomatic activities, Leavitt managed to carve out a moment for herself, indulging in a bit of retail therapy. Her Instagram post, highlighting her beauty finds, added a personal touch to the diplomatic journey, showing a glimpse of life beyond the political stage.

The Press Secretary spread out her haul on her bed, snapping a quick picture for her Instagram Stories.

‘South Korea skincare finds,’ she wrote in white text on top of the photo, accompanied by a heart-eye emoji.

Leavitt appeared to buy a ton of different products, including face masks, toning pads and lip balms.

One of the brands that the 28-year-old picked out in her haul was Medicube, a Korean brand that now sells some products in the United States.

Leavitt bought its Zero Pore Pads, which retail for under $20 in the states, as well as the brand’s PDRN Pink Tone Up Sun Cream.

She also purchased a variety of face masks from the brand Mediheal, as well as a cleanser, cleansing oil and eye cream from Beauty of Joseon.

Some Beauty of Joseon products are currently being sold at Sephora stores in the US, with an affordable price point of items that are under $25.

Other items in her haul included various serums and a peptide glowing skin essence.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time that the Press Secretary has shared her love for skincare and makeup with her social media followers.

Before she was took the post at The White House, she was the national press secretary for Trump’s presidential campaign, where she often made television appearances.

And on her Instagram page, she would to show fans how she did her makeup for these appearances.

‘I receive a lot of questions about how I do my makeup when I go on TV… so I figured I’d show it!’ Leavitt wrote in the caption of one clip, which was originally posted in November 2023.

‘Here’s the look I did for a hit on Fox Business… in my New York City hotel room at literally 4am,’ she shared.

But before diving into the video, the mom-of-one admitted that she couldn’t take all the credit.

‘I can’t take all of the credit because when I arrive at the networks, the amazing hair and makeup teams provide touch ups. However most of the time, I do interviews from my home studio and I’m my own glam team!’ she wrote.

Starting off the makeup routine, Leavitt revealed that she used the $48 Plump and Prime Serum by Too Faced Cosmetics, which is meant to ‘prep skin for flawless makeup application.’

After she applied that all over her face, she combined two foundations – Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Soft’Lit Naturally Luminous Hydrating Longwear Foundation that retails at $40, along with the $47 Too Faced Born This Way liquid foundation.

She blended out the products with a fluffy foundation brush, followed by a Beauty Blender around her eye area.

Following that, Leavitt applied a touch of eyeshadow with the $54 Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette by Too Faced, which was mostly comprised of shimmering neutral shades, and some undereye concealer.

Keeping with the Too Faced products, which appeared to be her favorite, she used their $25 Brow Wig eyebrow gel and their $29 Better Than Sex mascara to make her blue eyes pop.

Of course, Leavitt didn’t forget about contouring, which she did with a contour stick, applying it on her cheekbones, under the chin and on the forehead.

She followed up with a shimmering powder bronzer by Too Faced, which seems to have since been discontinued.

The Trump aide then blended it all out with a Beauty Blender.

And for the finishing touches, the 28-year-old set her face makeup with a setting powder, applied a peach-toned blush from Benefit, and a berry-hued $30 lip oil from Clarins, which matched the color of the leather dress she was wearing for the TV appearance.

The finished look gave her a gorgeous, sun-kissed glow.

However, in more recent months, it appears that she has changed some aspects of her makeup routine, opting for a light, bubblegum-pink lip in her March 21 MAGA Minute on Instagram.

For most of her press conferences so far, she’s also chosen light, neutral makeup, always complete with a berry-colored or pink lip.
