SAVANNAH, Ga. () – This year, Halloween lands on a Friday, providing us an opportunity to reflect on the diverse weather patterns we’ve experienced. Back in 1925, we had a scorching Halloween with temperatures peaking at a sizzling 90°F. In stark contrast, the chilliest Halloween occurred recently in 2019, when the mercury barely rose to 53°F.

Over the past half-decade, Halloween celebrations have been blessed with balmy weather, featuring temperatures comfortably in the 70s and 80s. However, this year promises a change of pace with notably cooler conditions. The forecast predicts highs only reaching the mid-60s, a scenario last seen in 2012—13 years ago!

Additionally, nighttime temperatures are expected to fall into the low 40s, reminiscent of that same year. Normally, we anticipate Halloween highs around the mid-70s and lows in the mid-50s, making this year’s forecast significantly cooler than average.

If you plan on venturing out for trick-or-treating, here’s what to anticipate:

• Evening temperatures will fall through the 50s, and if you stay out late, it could even drop into the 40s.
• The sky  will be clear, so you won’t need an umbrella, but you will want an extra layer or two under your costume.
• Don’t forget your glow stick or flashlight, your candy bucket, and of course, your spooky spirit!
