ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – On Thursday, Orlando Health initiated the first phase of the Rockledge Hospital demolition project.

The initial stage, set to last around eight weeks, involves dismantling parking areas and smaller buildings located around the main hospital structure.

News 6 community correspondent Alex Cook visited the site on Thursday, witnessing an excavator tearing down metal railings in a parking lot.

Meanwhile, workers were busy erecting a chain-link fence to secure the work area.
