A woman from Pennsylvania is counting her blessings after surviving a seemingly random road rage attack in which she was shot while overtaking another vehicle on the highway.

“I had no road rage,” victim Kathryn Runner told Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI. “I didn”t, like, honk at him, I didn’t flip him the bird. I didn’t do anything to him. What gets me is a lot of cars passed him. What made him choose me?”

According to Newtown Township police, officers were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. on Monday to investigate a shooting near the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as Runner, with a gunshot wound to her left wrist.

Runner recounted her experience, explaining she was driving behind a slow-moving vehicle when she decided to follow other cars in passing it.

“As I maneuvered around the car, a glint caught my eye,” she explained to the TV station. “I turned to see a gun’s barrel, then my window shattered, leaving a bullet hole.”

Acting quickly, Runner dialed 911 and trailed the vehicle to capture its license plate number. However, the driver suddenly swerved onto another road and allegedly fired two more shots at her, one of which struck her. Runner described the moment, saying her fingers went numb as she realized she had been hit.

“I definitely was screaming at the 911 operator that he’s shooting at me,” she said.

With the vehicle information in hand, cops found the suspect “within minutes” and took him into custody. Officers also found a gun in the car, the press release said. Christopher Corbi, 41, faces a slew of charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle.

Corbi remains at the Bucks County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Runner received a couple of stitches at the hospital. She told the TV station she is “thankful to be alive.”
