The momentous signing of the Treaty marks a significant turning point, heralding a new era where the rich tapestry of First Peoples’ 60,000 years of knowledge and culture is not only acknowledged but celebrated. “Treaty is not just about recognition – it’s about justice, healing, and truth-telling,” emphasized Dr. Gallagher.
A public ceremony to mark the commencement of Treaty will be held at Melbourne’s Federation Square on Friday, 12 December.
