The Hollywood scene was once his aspiration, but now David Pearce faces a grim reality as he begins a 146-year prison sentence. His attorney has confirmed plans to appeal the conviction that came earlier this year, a decision that follows a jury’s verdict against him for first-degree murder and multiple rapes.

Pearce, 43, was found guilty of administering fentanyl-laced drugs to two young women, Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola and Christy Giles, after encountering them at a party in November 2021. Prosecutors detailed how Pearce transported the women to his apartment in Beverly Hills, where the tragic events unfolded.

According to the authorities, when both women succumbed to overdoses, Pearce callously abandoned them at different hospitals. Christy Giles, aged 24, was pronounced dead on arrival, while 26-year-old Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola clung to life for 11 days before passing away.
