A date has been determined for a confidential hearing regarding attempts to prevent the youngest Snowtown serial killer from gaining parole.
The session is scheduled for December 5, but it will occur behind closed doors without media presence, as the law mandates that such proceedings remain private.
Earlier today, journalists gathered for a brief session alongside legal counsel, including the attorney representing James Vlassakis.
Vlassakis was found guilty of involvement in four of the notorious 11 Snowtown murders during the 1990s.
Parole board commissioner Michael David KC considered whether media access could be granted for this prominent appeal but concluded that the hearings must remain confidential.
Vlassakis, now 45 years old, was controversially granted parole in August after serving 26 years, but the South Australian attorney-general launched an 11th-hour bid to put that release on ice.
Kyam Maher asked for a review saying the parole board failed to give proper consideration to community safety.
