Lorraine Kelly shared a poignant tribute to a former colleague who passed away two years ago. The well-known Scottish television host expressed her sorrow on social media for Hannah, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 33, just months after welcoming her baby. Hannah Hawkins, an ITV digital producer, faced a second breast cancer diagnosis while pregnant with her son, Rory, and sadly passed away in 2023. In remembrance, Lorraine posted a touching photo of Hannah with her newborn during her cancer battle, captioning it: “This was two years ago today – our incredible, lively, talented producer Hannah with her little boy Rory – a week later she was no longer with us.

“Gone too soon. An integral part of our #changeandcheck campaign. Deeply missed by everyone who knew her, especially her wonderful husband @tom.hawkins0411. Embrace every moment! #breastcancer #love #family #mother #brave.”

In the comments, Ranvir Singh expressed: “Still unimaginably unjust.” Another follower added: “God love her, taken far too soon.”

Someone else echoed: “Oh dear Lord! Simply heartbreaking!”

Hannah’s husband, Tom, shared his own heartfelt words: “We miss her more and more every day.” [sic]

A fifth also typed: “What a beautiful photo and so heartbreaking to read. Thank you so much for the #checkandchange campaign, it’s so so important.”

Two years ago, Lorraine re-shared news of Hannah’s death on Instagram after her husband shared a statement. It read: “Hannah Hawkins 11.12.89 – 3.11.23. For someone whose love language was gift giving, leaving us the day before my birthday was really not the one. I wish you’d kept the receipt.”

He continued: “There is no way I can pay tribute or sum you up in one post. In fact I could write an essay on how unfair this is. That you miss out on seeing Rory growing up, that he won’t be able to feel the love of his mum, and that this terrible illness took hold so quickly.

“But that’s not how you saw it. The remarkable person that you were, the phrase you used so many times over the last few weeks – and it set me off every time: “I’m so at peace with the life I’ve lived” is something we can all admire.”
