An out-of-control Halloween party in Perth‘s south-east was broken up by police after hundreds of teenagers turned up – many of them gatecrashers.

Two police officers reportedly faced assault while attempting to break up a gathering at a Byford residence last night, resulting in the overnight detention of two party attendees.

Originally intended as a Halloween celebration, the event on Linton Street North spiraled out of control as more than 400 individuals descended upon the location.

“The homeowner was not to blame in any way,” neighbor Jean explained to 9News.

“A swarm of kids just appeared out of nowhere, and it was the homeowner who notified the police. I spoke with him afterward, and he was very worried.”

While many attendees were there for some festive frights, neighbors reported that a few unruly individuals were causing chaos by yelling, breaking bottles, jumping fences, and even confronting the police.

“So the policeman at the side, he was wonderful, he dived on this big teenager, knocked him on the floor.
