Amidst the ongoing government shutdown, millions of Americans are facing uncertainty as their SNAP benefits for November have been suspended, leaving them worried about affording food.

Currently, around 42 million people, or nearly one in every eight Americans, depend on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which was previously known as food stamps, to help them get by financially.

Senator Tim Sheehy, a Republican from Montana, informed Batya Ungar-Sargon that President Trump is actively considering “every option available” to bring an end to the shutdown and reinstate SNAP funding.
