ATLANTA (AP) — In a puzzling twist, a $180,000 Range Rover, tailored specifically for NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, was stolen in Georgia earlier this month. Authorities are now intensifying their search efforts to recover the bespoke vehicle.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office in northeast Georgia reported that the luxury SUV was believed to have been swiped from a nearby fabrication shop. Investigators suspect it was then transported to the Atlanta metropolitan area. Originally, the vehicle was intended to be sent to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for O’Neal’s use during a Louisiana State University game, yet it mysteriously vanished before reaching its destination, as reported by CBS News Atlanta.

Law enforcement has pinpointed several possible suspects and has executed multiple search warrants in connection with the theft.

Effortless Motors, the California-based company responsible for customizing the vehicle and known for collaborating with O’Neal since 2023, commented via a spokesperson. They revealed that FirstLine Trucking LLC, tasked with transporting the car, reported a breach in their system, suggesting it might have been hacked.

The SUV had undergone modifications to accommodate O’Neal’s towering 7’1” stature, among other enhancements, making the theft even more peculiar.

Effortless Motors is offering $10,000 for any information that could help investigators find the vehicle, news outlets reported.
