A man is on the mend following a gunshot wound to his foot after authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In the early hours of Sunday, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a shooting incident on Thorn Glen Road.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded during a domestic altercation. In the midst of the dispute, the suspect brandished a firearm and discharged multiple shots, one of which struck the man in the foot.
The victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
The injured man was taken to a hospital and his injury is said to be non-life-threatening.
Officers say they detained the gunman and are still collecting video evidence and interviewing witnesses for the investigation.
