As the clock ticks down to Election Day, candidates vying for New York City’s mayoral seat are making their final moves to rally voter support. The race to govern the nation’s largest city is in its last stretch, with contenders leaving no stone unturned in their campaign efforts.

With Tuesday’s crucial vote looming, Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa have been campaigning tirelessly across all five boroughs. Each is determined to convince New Yorkers they are the right choice to succeed the outgoing Mayor Eric Adams.

In the days leading up to the election, Mamdani joined seniors for a lively dance on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Meanwhile, Cuomo enjoyed a meal in Brooklyn’s Brighton Beach, known for its vibrant Eastern European community, while Sliwa made a visit to a mosque in the Bronx.

Mamdani, a 34-year-old democratic socialist poised to become the city’s first Muslim mayor, shook up the political scene by defeating Cuomo in the primary. His campaign has been characterized by a dynamic approach aimed at addressing the city’s affordability challenges.

As the campaign reaches its climax, Mamdani continues to energize his supporters with viral social media content and an aggressive on-the-ground strategy. He urges his progressive followers to stay active and ensure a strong turnout at the polls, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their momentum.

Cuomo is trying to make his return to political office after resigning as governor four years ago following a barrage of sexual harassment accusations that he denies. Now running as an independent, the 67-year-old has in recent days shifted to wooing Republican voters to bolster his centrist base, pitching himself as the only candidate who can stop Mamdani.

Sliwa, the creator of the Guardian Angels crime patrol group and a longtime fixture on New York’s airwaves, seeks to spoil both Democrats’ chances. He’s been heavily canvassing the streets and subways in his signature red beret to spread his message of public safety.
