SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Monday greeted Savannah with abundant sunshine and comfortably mild weather.

Temperatures climbed into the low 70s in most areas, setting the stage for a warming trend that is predicted to persist throughout the workweek and extend into the weekend.

A high-pressure system is firmly establishing itself over the Southeast, ensuring predominantly clear skies for the coming days.

Tuesday’s afternoon temperatures are anticipated to reach the low to mid-70s.

From Wednesday through Sunday, expect afternoon highs to range from the upper 70s to the low 80s, while nighttime temperatures will dip to the mid-40s and lower 50s.

A strong cold front is forecast to sweep through the southeast on Sunday. This front will not only bring a chance for some showers, but also much colder temperatures for next week.

Monday’s high temperatures will only warm into the low to mid 60s. A strong breeze will make conditions feel even cooler. There is a good chance that much of the area will have low temperatures in the low to mid 30s next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Frost is possible across much of the area. There is also a chance that parts of the area will experience their first freeze of the season.

TRACKING THE TROPICS

The National Hurricane Center is not currently monitoring any tropical waves in the Atlantic basin for potential development.

There is a disorganized area of cloudlessness in the western Caribbean that some long-range guidance hints at becoming better organized near Central America.

Heavy rain and breezy conditions would be the main concern for Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica later this week.

Regardless of development, there is no threat to the U.S.
