AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — In a disturbing discovery, authorities found a woman handcuffed to exercise equipment outside a Texas residence, where she claimed to have been held captive for several months, local law enforcement reported.

The victim informed police that she had been repeatedly shot with a BB gun, as detailed in an arrest warrant affidavit reviewed by KXAN News.

On October 30, the Austin Police Department swiftly responded to an urgent welfare check call. A 911 caller reported hearing a woman “screaming for help” and described her as being “handcuffed to a workout apparatus at the entrance gate of a fence,” according to the affidavit.
