Court docs: 10-year-old shot by uncle in Johnson County shooting

In a tragic incident over the weekend in Johnson County, Tennessee, a 10-year-old boy was reportedly shot by his uncle, as detailed in court documents accessed by News Channel 11.

Authorities quickly responded to a distress call from the 2000 block of Waters Road in the Laurel Bloomery Community around 9 p.m. on Saturday. The 911 call described an “accident,” where the boy’s uncle, named as Joshua Houston Upright, was allegedly involved in the shooting.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered the young boy inside the house, suffering from a gunshot wound located behind his left ear. Emergency services swiftly transported him to Johnson City Medical Center for urgent medical attention.
