On Tuesday, authorities apprehended the mother of a missing Florida girl, charging her with child neglect.
Gabrielle Terrelonge, aged 10, was initially reported missing on October 29. However, she was last sighted in Broward County on June 21. According to WSVN, it wasn’t until her mother, 34-year-old Passha Davis, was taken into custody that officials realized Gabrielle was missing.
Reports suggest that Terrelonge moved between South and Central Florida with family members. Before Davis’s arrest, Gabrielle might have been in her company, WSVN indicated.
An unnamed family member revealed to the media that they attempted to provide shelter for Gabrielle, as both she and her mother were without a permanent home.
“We have no idea where she could be,” the relative expressed.
Terrelonge was described as standing 4 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, and having dark hair. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black long pants, and white Crocs.
Davis, who appeared in court on Wednesday, was ordered to remain jailed on $100,000 bond. She was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
The FBI is involved in the ongoing search for Terrelonge — who is considered at-risk. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Margate Police Department at 954-972-7111.
