GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The NFL has confirmed the untimely passing of Marshawn Kneeland, a 24-year-old defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The news of Kneeland’s death was shared by the Cowboys on Thursday morning, according to a report by ESPN.

“It is with deep sorrow that the Dallas Cowboys announce the tragic passing of Marshawn Kneeland earlier today,” the team expressed in a statement reported by ESPN. “Marshawn was a cherished teammate and integral part of our organization. Our hearts and prayers go out to his girlfriend Catalina and his family during this difficult time.”
