Renowned celebrity chef Hilda Baci is celebrating a new achievement as she receives her second plaque from Guinness World Records.
This latest accolade recognizes her extraordinary accomplishment of cooking the largest pot of jollof rice in the world. Verified by Guinness World Records, the gigantic dish weighed an impressive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) and was crafted during a cooking event in Lagos in September.
The new plaque arrives a little over a year following her first record, which she set in May 2023 by completing a cooking marathon that lasted 93 hours and 11 minutes.
These achievements have cemented Hilda Baci’s status as Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records, making her the most decorated in the nation.
Expressing her joy, she wrote: “Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records—two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves, a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
Baci added: “A two time Guinness World Record Holder !!! Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7”.
