During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this Thursday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) expressed his support for California voters, stating their determination not to let figures like Greg Abbott and Donald Trump manipulate the election outcomes in Texas. He also praised the leadership of Governor Gavin Newsom (D).

Governor Shapiro remarked, “The message from California voters was unequivocal. They, along with Governor Newsom’s commendable leadership, have made it clear that they won’t stand by as Greg Abbott and Donald Trump attempt to skew the election results in Texas, potentially gifting Republicans an additional 4 or 5 seats. Californians have done a great service to the nation by essentially countering Texas’s actions, setting the stage for a fair and competitive election process.”

He further elaborated, “In Pennsylvania, we have the distinction of hosting more competitive congressional seats than any other state, with four key races. My focus is not only on securing my re-election next year but also on capturing those four seats to help win control of the U.S. House of Representatives. This effort aims to halt the advancement of Donald Trump’s harmful policies through Congress. The people of Pennsylvania, who were foundational in establishing our democracy, are committed to doing everything possible in the upcoming midterms to safeguard it by winning these pivotal seats.”
