Springfield man arrested after investigation finds 1,200+ grams of drugs, 2 firearms

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A man from Springfield, aged 34, found himself behind bars on Wednesday after authorities uncovered over 1,200 grams of drugs along with several firearms in his home following an investigation.

On November 5, Tavious Spencer was taken into custody by the Springfield Police Department’s Pro-Active Crime Unit. This arrest came as part of an ongoing narcotics probe, during which officers obtained and executed a search warrant for Spencer’s residence with support from the Street Crimes Unit of the Springfield Police Department.
