WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. – Acting on a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search on November 7th at a residence along Highway 15 North in Warthen, Georgia. The investigation was centered around allegations of child pornography.

During the operation, authorities uncovered marijuana and two firearms inside the home. Subsequently, 69-year-old Rusty David Eakin was apprehended and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

As the search warrant was executed, investigators received information about another individual residing at the same location, prompting further action.

Following this lead, law enforcement officials proceeded to a separate site where they arrested 37-year-old Joseph Rusy Eakin. He faces charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.

While executing the search warrant, investigators were given a second name of a person that lived there.

Investigators went to a secondary location where 37-year-old Joseph Rusy Eakin was arrested and charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children.

Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said that additional charges are pending.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation ICAC Task Force in this case.
