When officers came to a Missouri residence seeking a person of interest, two women reportedly misled them about the man’s location, resulting in a fatal shooting, according to law enforcement.

Patty Armour, 51, and Lois Armour, 78, are now facing charges of second-degree felony murder, as announced by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in an official statement.

Initially, the women were taken into custody on charges of hindering prosecution for allegedly obstructing officers in their efforts to locate 57-year-old Charles Armour.

On October 12, law enforcement arrived at a Paris, Missouri home following a lead related to a murder investigation in nearby Ralls County. Patty and Lois Armour engaged in conversation with the officers.

Although the authorities were granted access to the home, the women falsely claimed that the man was not present, according to probable cause statements obtained by Law&Crime. Contrary to their statement, Charles Armour was discovered hiding in the master bathroom, armed with a handgun, officials reported.

Officers went searching and eventually located him. That is when a shootout commenced.

Charles Armour fired his gun at officers, hitting one of them, the court documents state. This officer was brought to an area hospital for treatment and later released. The suspect himself was killed during the exchange of gunfire.

The women were arrested and held in jail on $50,000 — and then $100,000 bond on the hindering prosecution charges. Given the new murder charges against them, they are now being held without bond.

It is unclear what relation, if any, the women had to Charles Armour.

The women are scheduled to appear in Monroe County court on Wednesday.
