WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. — On November 7, Melvin “Shotgun” Holder, a 57-year-old resident of Swainsboro, was taken into custody, facing two charges of felony child molestation and one charge of felony burglary.
According to law enforcement officials, these charges are connected to a case involving a 12-year-old victim and a 12-year-old witness.
On October 18, Holder allegedly unlawfully entered the victim’s residence. During this intrusion, he is accused of restraining one of the individuals and sexually molesting the other.
Following his arrest, Holder was transported to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
“No child should ever have to experience something so terrible. Our duty is not only to bring offenders to justice, but to stand with the victims and their families every step of the way. I’m thankful for the teamwork and professionalism shown by Sheriff Brewer and the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office CID. Together, we made sure this suspect could no longer harm another child.”
