Nigeria’s Afrobeats sensations are basking in the spotlight once more, as the nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards were revealed on Friday evening. Among the celebrated artists are Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Omah Lay, each earning a nod from the prestigious awards.

This recognition highlights the ongoing global surge of Nigerian music and its extraordinary impact on the international music scene.

In the Best African Music Performance category, Davido and Omah Lay clinched a joint nomination for their collaboration on “With You,” marking a milestone as Omah Lay’s inaugural Grammy nomination. They share this honor with Burna Boy’s track “Love,” Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat,” as well as Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love,” and Tyla’s “PUSH 2 START.”

Burna Boy, a previous Grammy winner, also landed a nomination for Best Global Music Album with his work “No Sign of Weakness.” He joins a competitive field alongside esteemed artists like Youssou N’Dour, Anoushka Shankar, Shakti with Siddhant Bhatia, and the duo Caetano Veloso & Maria Bethânia.

Burna Boy, already a Grammy winner, also secured a nomination for Best Global Music Album with “No Sign of Weakness,” competing alongside Youssou N’Dour, Anoushka Shankar, Shakti, Siddhant Bhatia, and Caetano Veloso & Maria Bethânia.
