SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Brace yourselves for a significant shift in weather as today’s warmth gives way to a cold front set to arrive by Monday night. Currently, we’re enjoying a warm and humid spell with temperatures expected to reach the low 80s, accompanied by a mix of sunshine and clouds. As the afternoon progresses, there’s a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms as the cold front makes its approach. Some of these storms may become severe, bringing strong winds and occasional hail.

As the evening unfolds and the cold front passes, temperatures will take a sharp dip, plunging to the lower 40s overnight. Expect much cooler conditions tomorrow, with highs only reaching the low to mid 50s under sunny skies, thanks to an incoming high-pressure system. The real chill sets in tomorrow night, with temperatures predicted to fall below freezing, dipping into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

It’s crucial to keep in mind the Four Ps:

  • People: Dress warm, check on others, limit time outside
  • Pets: Bring them inside, provide shelter, check on their paws
  • Pipes: Insulate pipes, let faucets drip, open cabinet doors
  • Plants: Cover outdoor plants, bring sensitive plants inside

Tuesday will continue to be on the cooler side, with highs in the low 50s and another potential freeze looming for Tuesday night. However, by Wednesday, temperatures will start to recover, climbing into the mid 60s, and by Thursday, highs will be back in the lower 70s. Despite the warming trend, the nights will remain brisk, with lows staying in the 40s for the rest of the week.
