Fire departments throughout Wisconsin are raising the alarm for residents to adopt safety measures following a devastating week that resulted in seven fatalities due to house fires across the state.
Data from the Wisconsin State Fire Inspectors Association indicates that between November 2 and November 8, there were five deadly house fires reported in various locations, including Lomira, Waukesha, Fitchburg, Howard, and Milwaukee, accounting for the tragic loss of life.
“The tragic losses from these home fires are heart-wrenching, and we cannot accept such outcomes,” stated Jason Knecht, President of the Wisconsin Fire Inspectors Association. “Our ambition is to eliminate fire-related deaths in Wisconsin completely. With the current technology and resources at our disposal, achieving this is within reach.”
