Emily Simpson‘s Wife Swap partner, Caley Svensson, recently opened up about her unexpected link to fellow reality TV stars Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga. She revealed the background of their previous disagreement and hinted at the moment things “blew up.”

The controversy dates back to 2020 when Joe, known for his role in Real Housewives of New Jersey, shared before-and-after photos of a house he claimed to have renovated and sold for profit. Caley countered this by alleging that Joe misrepresented her home as the ‘after’ image, clarifying that her residence was never a renovation project. Reports indicate that Caley reached out to her builder’s legal team and considered taking legal steps after Joe allegedly ignored her request to remove the misleading photo.

In a TikTok video on November 7, shared via @tasteof_reality on Instagram, Caley recounted the incident, saying, “Yes, there was a minor issue with the Gorgas a couple of years ago concerning my former house. Joe claimed he built and flipped it, using my home’s image on Instagram. However, he neither constructed nor flipped it, and it was the wrong address. It seemed rather deceptive. I simply asked him to take it down, and when he didn’t, things escalated from there.”

Caley noted that the situation quickly garnered public attention.

Caley said people “caught onto it.”

“We don’t communicate at all. And eventually the picture was taken down, and he admitted that the house that he claimed to have flipped was obviously not mine,” she continued. “And it went away. Ironically, which I find so funny — I did grow up in Franklin Lakes. I lived in Franklin Lakes for over 20 years. I worked at the Market Basket and grew up there. So, yes, I’m very familiar with the area they live in and where they are … [But] I live about 20 minutes away from them now in a different part of Bergen County.”

Caley — who spent time with Emily’s husband, Shane Simpson, and his family on Wife Swap — hinted at what wasn’t shown.

“I do need to be more physically affectionate. And Shane’s parents actually gave us amazing advice, which I wish they put in,” she explained. “[They said] if [he] want[s] to have me be more physically affectionate to [him], pick up a dish towel and help me dry the dishes, and then we’ll snuggle on the couch together. And [his mother] said that’s what’s always worked for her relationship. And I love that advice, and I think we’ve really been trying to do that more.”
