In an admirable display of community support, the City of Savannah is set to distribute 1,400 food boxes across its six Alderman Districts. This initiative aims to alleviate the strain on households grappling with the recent reduction in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Spanning three days, the distribution will occur at various locations, offering a vital reprieve to those in need. The city’s collaboration with Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is central to this effort, bolstered by a generous $50,000 grant. This funding is earmarked to facilitate the preparation and distribution of the much-needed food boxes.
