A demonstration in Melbourne’s central district, known as the March for Australia, erupted into chaos last month when anti-racism counter-protesters confronted police, hurling large rocks and other objects that injured several officers.

Among the injured, a female sergeant sustained a significant hand injury, which, according to a police report, will affect her work capabilities. Additionally, a senior constable suffered a leg wound that necessitated stitches.

Following the incident, authorities apprehended a 24-year-old man from Corio. He faces multiple charges for allegedly throwing a rock at an officer.

The charges include reckless conduct endangering life, assaulting a police officer, launching a projectile, disorderly conduct, and failing to appear in court when required.

The accused appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court, where he was granted bail and is scheduled to return on November 20.

Police are trying to track down eight more people who were seen near Spring Street and Exhibition Street on the day of the protests.

Many are wearing hoods or masks, making it more difficult to identify them.

One of the individuals pictured was holding a lollipop stop sign normally used by road workers, but with the phrase “stop Nazi’s” written underneath.

Police allege counter protesters threw rocks, glass bottles and rotten fruit at police.
