Will Ferrell has reportedly had to temporarily halt filming for his new Netflix comedy series due to a minor injury.

Sources indicate that the 58-year-old Step Brothers star sustained this injury off set, which has temporarily sidelined him from production.

Although the injury isn’t considered severe, TMZ reports that it has been enough to prevent Ferrell from participating in scheduled scenes in Los Angeles this week.

Details about how or where Ferrell was injured remain unclear, but the incident has made it difficult for him to film safely or comfortably.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Ferrell for further comments on the situation.

Ferrell is set to take center stage as a fictional golf legend in is the upcoming series, which will mark his debut TV comedy role.

The as-yet-untitled ten-episode show follows Lonnie ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins (Ferrell), a fictional golf legend

No Good Deed and Horizon actor Luke Wilson has also joined the cast to play a rival pro golfer, who has beaten Ferrell’s character for the tour championship twice before.

Wilson and Ferrell have starred together in numerous movies, including Old School (2003), Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie (2004), Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004) and others.

Previously announced stars include Jimmy Tatro as Ferrell’s on-screen son, Lance, who is said to be an incredible pro golfer in his own right, and Fortune Feimster as Sam, a new caddie and possible good luck charm.

Saturday Night Live alum Chris Parnell will play Anton, a PGA Tour board member and all-around jerk while Katelyn Tarver will join as Natalie, a social media influencer and the extremely supportive fiancée of Tatro’s Lance.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s David Hornsby will play Radford, a rich Southern man who’s dating actress Molly Shannon’s Stacy.

Ferrell serves as a co-executive producer on the project.

So far, reception to the series has been lukewarm.

On Reddit, one asked Top of Form: ‘Is this just an excuse for these guys to get paid to play golf a la Adam Sandler’s vacation movies?’

Another commented: ‘Unless you’re making fun of golf’s inherent elitism, it’s not going to be funny. That’s where Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore found their comedy.’

‘This generation of comedic actors are all in the retirement golf stage of life,’ observed another.

Last week, on November 8, Ferrell and his wife of 25 years, Viveca Paulin, attended the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala presented by Paul Mitchell at Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.

At the star-studded event, the Daddy’s Home actor debuted a goofy blond hairdo, which appears to be for the golf series.

Ferrell and Paulin met in 1995 and wed five years later. Together, they have three sons: Magnus, 21, Mattias, 18 and Axel, 15.
