The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has gained a reputation for its suspenseful endings. At the conclusion of Season 1, viewers were left in suspense over Mayci Neeley’s probe into Dakota Mortensen’s alleged cheating. Season 2 took a dramatic turn when Marciano Brunette revealed his affair with Jessi Ngatikaura. Season 3, which just premiered on Hulu, sees Taylor Frankie Paul reconnecting with her former soft-swinging associate, Chase McWhorter, in what could easily be mistaken for a romantic encounter.

To give some background, Paul caused quite a stir in 2022 when she disclosed that she and her then-husband had been involved in soft-swinging with other Mormon couples. Among those in this circle were Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Miranda McWhorter and her then-spouse Chase. Both marriages ended in divorce, and although Paul had another child with Mortensen in 2024, their relationship ended over his texting scandal involving her mother’s best friend, a revelation that emerged in Season 3.

Paul and Chase’s paths crossed again at a tumultuous Halloween party in Season 2, marking their first meeting since the swinging controversy and their divorces. Up to that point, Chase had been publicly criticizing Paul on social media and his podcast, which Paul attributed to her rejection of him after he confessed his feelings when they ran into each other at the gym.

Their explosive confrontation at the Halloween party made it all the more surprising when Paul chose to meet with Chase in the Season 3 finale’s closing scenes. Even more unexpected was their amiable exchange, reminiscing about shared showers, and engaging in what could only be described as flirtation. They even labeled their rendezvous as a “date.”

“He’s incredibly charismatic, and I naturally have a flirty demeanor,” Paul confessed. “There’s just a natural flow to our interaction. It’s hard to define because if I call it chemistry, does that imply I have feelings for him?”

The episode ended with Chase asking, “Should we kiss for old time’s sake?” Paul, for her part, blushed as she seemed to consider his offer, before the screen cut to the closing credits.

While we don’t know yet if they kissed or hooked up after that moment, we do know that Paul is currently searching for love on The Bachelorette. So, no matter what happened with Chase, it looks like nothing long-lasting came out of it. We’ll just have to wait until Season 4 to find out!

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3 is currently streaming on Hulu.
