In a tragic incident on Wednesday, an off-duty airman from Missouri’s Whiteman Air Force Base fatally shot a neighbor who attempted to mediate a domestic dispute. The confrontation ended with the airman turning the gun on himself.
The airman, identified as Glyzua Ingram, opened fire on law enforcement officers as they arrived at the scene. Shortly afterward, officers discovered Ingram deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a statement from the Warrensburg Police Department.
Authorities reported that Tony Barron, who bravely stepped in to assist during the altercation, was tragically killed by Ingram before police could arrive. Barron was unarmed at the time of the incident.
Upon their arrival, officers observed Ingram fleeing the location and refrained from returning fire despite being shot at. They later found Ingram’s body in a nearby wooded area.
Fortunately, no officers were injured during the exchange. The woman involved in the domestic dispute with Ingram received treatment for non-gunshot-related injuries at the Western Missouri Medical Center and was subsequently released.
