Megan Moroney has singled out Kenny Chesney as the one artist who has been unwavering in his support behind the scenes.

The 28-year-old country musician shared that Chesney, 57, has been a steadfast ally, offering a shoulder to lean on as her career continues to soar.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail at Raising Cane’s in Athens, Georgia, Moroney revealed that Chesney has quickly become not just a source of support, but also someone she deeply depends on.

Their strong connection developed when she joined the She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy singer on his Sun Goes Down stadium tour last year.

“I absolutely adore Kenny Chesney,” she expressed. “I can turn to him for virtually anything, whether it’s advice on life or guidance for my career.”

‘He’s kind of at the top of the mountain, so he’s got a lot of good knowledge he likes to share with me, and I appreciate that.’

Moroney also described Chesney, who was inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame just last month, as a ‘great friend.’

‘I could call him right now and he’d pick up and I love that,’ she added. ‘He is here if I needed him.’

Moroney has become one of the hottest names in country music. She is nominated for an impressive six awards at this year’s Country Music Awards, putting her in tied top position alongside Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley.

The ceremony, due to take place on November 19, could see her scoop female vocalist of the year and album of the year for her 2024 album, Am I Okay?

Speaking to Daily Mail, Moroney shared how she manages to juggle her personal life with her meteoric rise to fame, especially when there has been such an interest in her romances.

In recent weeks, she has been linked to NFL player Nick Bosa and last year she was forced to set the record straight on rumors that she had been romantically involved with Morgan Wallen, whom she dated but ‘never exclusively.’

Shrugging off the rumor mill, Moroney said: ‘I’m gonna write about my life and if you want to read in between the lines and try to figure out what went down, that’s okay. It doesn’t bother me.

‘I think I just say sane by surrounding myself with good people, like my best friends or friends that I’ve had since I went to the University of Georgia. They’re my friends that have always been my friends.

‘They’re very supportive and normal and they’re not in the music industry.’

Moroney was at Raising Cane’s in Athens to promote her upcoming new album, Cloud9, which is due for release on February 20.

At the event, located near her alma mater University of Georgia, Moroney served fans from the counter and drive thru.

Turning her attention to her album, she described the project as ’empowering.’

‘My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry,’ she said. ‘I’ve always known who I am, but even more so when you’ve done two studio albums, by the third one you’re like, “oh, I’ve been here before.”

‘So, it was really fun to have that confidence in the studio and in the writers’ room and just to experiment a bit.’

Shedding light on how she put the album together, Moroney admitted she was able to write her upcoming album quickly.

‘We wrote five songs in a weekend for the album, and then another weekend I wrote three songs,’ she told press.

‘It just happened so naturally and I definitely didn’t try to force anything.’

She also revealed that the vocals were recorded in the Bahamas and that this third album will mark the first time she has collaborated with other artists.
