Sen. Kennedy Rubs More Salt in the Wound After Schumer's No Good, Horrible, Very Bad Week

Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana is known for his distinctive Southern charm and straightforward rhetoric. This week, his candid communication was on full display following the conclusion of the government shutdown orchestrated by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. The shutdown was effectively ended with the help of eight Democrats who diverged from their party to vote alongside Republicans.

In one of his interviews, as reports surfaced about a potential agreement with these Senate Democrats, Kennedy expressed to Fox News that “Sen. Schumer chose to initiate this shutdown—he ended up stirring more trouble than he could manage.”

The day after the House voted to pass the bill that President Trump signed to officially end the shutdown, Kennedy didn’t hold back. He criticized Schumer for failing to stand firm against the more progressive members of his party, which he saw as a critical mistake.

“I believe he’s intimidated by them,” Kennedy remarked. “It seems like his courage is currently on back order from overseas.”

“I think he’s scared of them,” Kennedy suggested. “I think his testicles are on back order from China.”
