In a concerning trend, Chicago has recently witnessed a spate of crash-and-grab burglaries, with retail businesses on the city’s Northwest and West sides becoming the primary targets. The Chicago Police Department raised an alert on Friday, urging vigilance in light of these audacious crimes.

According to police reports, the modus operandi of the culprits involves using a stolen vehicle to forcibly breach a business’s entrance. Once inside, the offenders swiftly gather valuable merchandise, particularly clothing and shoes, before making their getaway in a second stolen vehicle, often a van. This brazen approach not only highlights the boldness of the perpetrators but also the need for increased security measures among affected businesses.
