SAVANNAH, Ga. – The weather is looking splendid as a high-pressure system remains in control of the area. This weekend, a gentle southern breeze is set to usher in warmer-than-usual temperatures, accompanied by abundant sunshine. Today and tomorrow promise to be perfect for outdoor activities, with temperatures climbing to the mid to upper 70s today and reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s by tomorrow. The conditions are expected to remain pleasant throughout the day!

A new cold front is anticipated to arrive late on Sunday, yet it will pass through without bringing any rain. This front will lead to slightly cooler weather on Monday, with temperatures peaking around 70 degrees, which aligns with the seasonal average for this time of year.

As the high-pressure system strengthens again on Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will rebound quickly, reaching the mid to upper 70s. By Thursday and Friday, highs will once more touch the upper 70s to lower 80s. However, expect an increase in cloud cover towards the week’s end as the next weather system approaches from the west, potentially bringing a few isolated showers on both Thursday and Friday.

Unfortunately, rain remains elusive in the forecast, and it’s sorely needed. Much of the Southeast is grappling with moderate drought conditions, with severe drought affecting northern counties and extreme drought impacting southern counties. Savannah hasn’t recorded any measurable rain since October 12, and even then, it was a mere 0.31 inches.
