Trump says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files in stunning reversal: 'Nothing to hide'

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a surprising change of stance, President Donald Trump has called on House Republicans to support the release of files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. This development marks a significant shift, as Trump had previously opposed such a measure.

“We have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party,” Trump declared on social media. His statement came shortly after he returned to Washington, D.C., from a weekend trip to Florida, landing at Joint Base Andrews.

For some time, the push to disclose more documents from the Epstein case has gained momentum, with both Democrats and a number of Republicans advocating for increased transparency. They believe that making the Justice Department’s files public is a necessary step for accountability and truth.

President Trump’s new position is a tacit acknowledgment that the proponents of this measure likely have the numbers needed to pass it through the House of Representatives. However, the measure’s prospects in the Senate remain uncertain, leaving its ultimate fate unclear.
