SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Coastal Empire and Lowcountry are set to enjoy a pleasant stretch of weather this week. As the workweek begins, temperatures are starting off on a slightly cooler note, with daytime highs reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. This aligns closely with the seasonal norm of around 70°.

However, this brief spell of seasonable weather is expected to be short-lived. By tomorrow, temperatures will begin to rise, peaking in the mid-70s. The warming trend will continue through the week, with highs soaring into the upper 70s and lower 80s from Wednesday through Friday. Meanwhile, overnight lows are anticipated to hold steady in the 50s throughout the week.

As we head into Saturday, the region will remain warm under a mix of sunshine and clouds, with temperatures again reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s. A weaker cold front is predicted to make its way into the area from late Saturday into Sunday, bringing with it a chance for a few scattered showers. Despite this front, temperatures will stay above average, with highs on Sunday in the low to mid-70s.

While widespread rainfall isn’t expected, the region could use more precipitation. Much of the area is grappling with severe to extreme drought conditions, having last seen measurable rain on October 12, which amounted to just 0.31 inches. Encouragingly, the Climate Prediction Center suggests there could be a chance for above-average rainfall in the coming weeks, offering hope for some much-needed moisture.
