The Jacksonville community is mourning the loss of Tiffany Felton, a cherished mother and friend whose life was tragically cut short. Felton’s body was discovered beneath a bridge on Blanding Boulevard, sparking a fervent quest for justice and answers.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The call for justice intensifies as the Westside of Jacksonville grapples with the shocking discovery of a woman’s body beneath a bridge on Sunday night.

The victim has been identified by family and friends as Tiffany Felton, who was deeply loved as a mother, sister, and friend.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the circumstances leading to Felton’s death and how she ended up under the bridge near the Cedar River.

Community leaders have emphasized to First Coast News the importance of public involvement, urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in the resolution of this case.

“This was an unnecessary killing. Him or her left this lady under a bridge, under a bridge. It’s just, it’s just sad,” said AJ Jordan, Outreach Coordinator with MAD DADS.

Around 6:30 Sunday evening, Jacksonville sheriff’s officers were flagged down by a fisherman who said he saw a woman’s body.

“They responded to that location and found a deceased black female,” said Sgt. Kyle Matthew with the JSO Homicide Unit

A community group, MAD DADS, is calling on the public to speak up for Felton. Jordan tells First Coast News that the organization is ready to stand with her family.

“We need our city, our residents, to step up and, uh, tell what they know, you know. We have, we have children without mothers now, you know, and that’s just sad. So, we just need people to speak up,” he said.

Jordan said the group is also committed to helping the family find answers.

“We want the family to know foremost that we care. Mad Dads care, we’re going to do our part to help the family move towards some closure,” he said, “Tiffany‘s life matters.”

At this time, investigators have not yet released the cause of death and say this is an ongoing investigation.

“Whenever you have a death, whether it’s under a bridge or in a river or left in a park, it’s sad because it’s an unnecessary killing,” said Jordan.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward by calling the Jacksonville sheriff’s office at 904-630-0500 or you can remain anonymous and contact Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
