The Newsroom star shared an unforgettable personal story, recalling an evening when she suffered severe food poisoning after enjoying sushi while relaxing in a bath.

“It’s one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had,” Olivia admitted while co-hosting alongside Jenna Bush Hager on the November 18 episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. “I can’t believe I’m sharing this now.”

Despite her initial hesitation, the 45-year-old mother of two—Malcolm, aged 3, and 13-month-old Méi, with her husband, John Mulaney, 43—felt compelled to continue recounting the incident. She explained her fondness for taking baths to unwind, which makes this particular episode all the more memorable.

But once she’d started, the 45-year-old—mom to Malcolm, 3, and Méi, 13 months, with husband John Mulaney, 43—knew she had to tell the whole tale, explaining that she’s normally a huge fan of taking baths in general to help her relax. 

“I was working. I was really tired,” Olivia continued. “This decision came from being exhausted. I was staying in this hotel, the Shangri-La in Vancouver, and they have amazing sushi.” 

As Olivia noted, “I needed to take a bath, and I also needed to eat.”
