SAVANNAH, Ga. — As anticipated, Wednesday brought unseasonably warm and humid conditions to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.

Temperatures in the afternoon soared into the lower 80s across most areas, nearing record highs for this time of year.

The forecast predicts that this trend of near-record warmth will persist for the next few days.

Thursday morning is expected to be mild, with partly cloudy skies greeting residents. Temperatures will dip only to the mid and upper 50s, which is approximately 10 degrees warmer than what is typical for November.

The day will see a mix of clouds and sunshine, allowing afternoon highs to climb once again into the lower 80s for the majority of locations.

Similar conditions are expected for Friday. Morning lows will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The afternoon will be in the lower 80s again with a partly cloudy sky.

While Saturday will continue the trend with above-normal temperatures, changes are expected as a cold front moves into the southeastern U.S.

Temperatures Saturday afternoon will warm into the upper 70s to lower 80s ahead of the cold front. A few isolated showers or storms are possible along the frontal boundary in the later afternoon and into the evening.

Conditions behind the cold front will not be significantly cooler since the airmass behind it is originating off of the Pacific Ocean rather than it being a cold Canadian airmass.

Temperatures will be in the mid and upper 70s Sunday through early next week. Conditions will become warmer later in the week ahead of a cold front that is forecast to move through.

Thanksgiving Day will be very warm with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A few isolated showers or storms are possible.

Cooler and drier weather will move in for Black Friday shopping and that trend will continue into the long holiday weekend.
