Craig Conover is embracing a new chapter in his life.

The Season 10 premiere of Southern Charm, which debuted on Bravo tonight, featured Sewing Down founder Craig Conover candidly discussing his life following his split from Paige DeSorbo.

“I was betrayed by the person I trusted most in the entire world. We had our whole future planned,” Conover revealed to Madison LeCroy, expressing that he had moved past depression and was now simply feeling downcast.

Conover continued, “I never did anything to deserve becoming the villain in her story, but she needs a villain,” reflecting on how DeSorbo publicly managed the breakup.

Conover shared that he was caught off guard when he learned through media reports that DeSorbo had quickly moved on with Joe D’Amelio, prompting him to start seeing someone else—Natalie Buffett. He had met Buffett in the Bahamas years earlier and reconnected with her after the breakup. Conover admitted that once he felt “whole again,” he realized he had rushed into the relationship and still needed time to heal.

Still, he said everyone has “three true loves,” and since he’s already had two of his — Naomie Olindo and DeSorbo — he seemed optimistic about the future.

When Decider caught up with Conover before BravoCon, he opened up about navigating the show as a single man for the first time in years.

“What you’re watching is me just trying to navigate life in this new chapter that I definitely didn’t plan on being in, but you just put your best step forward,” Conover said.

Per his comment at BravoCon, he finds himself in a bit of a love “trapezoid” this season, and it seems like Salley Carson is involved. When we asked Conover how he feels about showmances at this point in his life, he said he would actually “prefer” to meet someone on TV.

“With a town as small as Charleston, it’s really hard to find space, or at least enough space, to not develop feelings for people you hang out with,” he said. “When really big personalities come around and cool people, you’re going to have to navigate that, because sometimes someone’s going to like one person, and that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always going to be the same on both sides.”

“I think you really get to know someone well when you’re filming with them,” he continued. “You just do. It’s a unique experience and I prefer it. It hasn’t worked out for me yet, so I don’t know if it’s the best thing to do, but it is my life and so I would say that I have a positive feeling about it. I’m not saying it’s the healthiest thing in the world, but I think it’s fun to meet people on television and then see where that goes.”
